Indian River County
Working under general supervision of the Foreman/Manager performs various maintenance activities using general maintenance, carpentry, asphalt, and masonry skills to repair/install, drainage pipes into drainage structures, sidewalks, roadway repairs, or a combination of these skills for the maintenance of County infrastructure within road rights-of-way or on County property.
High school graduate or GED and five years of working experience related skilled labor in the construction industry.
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in carpentry, asphalt, masonry, irrigation and drainage pipe work as they relate to roadway construction activities.
Knowledge in the safe operation of various types of hand tools and power tools.
Knowledge of standard Florida Maintenance of Traffic processes and procedures.
Ability to interpret drawings and plans.
Ability to trouble‑shoot irrigation systems and make repairs.
Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
