Job summary

The Driver/Equipment Operator II at Denton County supports road and bridge maintenance by operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, and backhoes. You will perform traffic control, patching, culvert installation, and routine equipment care.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas Class B CDL with an N endorsement, are able to obtain the N endorsement within 3 months, and have at least two years of related experience. This is a full-time, on-site role with full county benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and at least two years of related experience.
• Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License issued by the State of Texas.
• Driver’s License with “N” endorsement issued by the State of Texas is required within 3 months of employment.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License with “N” endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, backhoes for road and bridge projects.
• Performs traffic control duties including flagging, barricades, and cones; supports storm responses.
• Loads equipment and tools for off-site jobs and transports materials as needed.
• Cleans, inspects, and performs routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Cuts brush along roadsides and assists with culvert installation and repair when required.
