Job summary

Denton County is seeking a Driver/Equipment Operator II to perform skilled work in operating heavy equipment for road and bridge maintenance. You will patch roads, install culverts, cut brush, haul soil, and direct traffic at worksites as required.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and at least two years in a related field, plus a Texas Class B CDL with an N endorsement (within 3 months). Class A CDL with N endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as compactors, loaders, backhoes, tractors, and tractor trailers for road maintenance and construction.
• Perform traffic control at construction sites and set up barricades and cones as needed.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs; ensure safe operating conditions.
