Job summary

Albany County is seeking an Equipment Operator I for Road and Bridge. This is a full-time position with benefits. The role requires operating various heavy equipment, following written and verbal directions, and maintaining records for time and materials.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a Wyoming Class A-CDL with the ability to obtain a T endorsement and DOT Medical Card. Lifting up to 80 pounds and performing in adverse weather are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating multiple types of automotive equipment.
• Ability to lift eighty pounds and work in adverse weather.
• Valid Wyoming Class A-CDL and ability to obtain T endorsement and DOT Medical Card.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to follow complex written and verbal directions.
• Team player and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Grade and maintain gravel and dirt surfaced roads.
• Repair bridges, auto gates, and replace culverts.
• Operate trucks and loaders to transport materials.
• Plow roads during and after snowstorms.
• Install and maintain traffic signs.
• Set up voting booths and machines.
• Perform other duties as required.
