Job summary

Harris County Precinct 4 in Houston, TX seeks a motivated Operator to join our Road & Bridge team. You will maintain roadways and drainage, perform construction duties, and operate a range of heavy equipment.

Candidates must have a GED, at least six months of related experience, and must obtain a CDL within 3 months of employment. Regular full-time position, 40 hours weekly, with possible weekends. Harris County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months related experience or training as an operator.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and heavy construction equipment as required.
• Maintain roads and drainage including reconstruction, trimming, debris removal and pothole repair.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections of equipment and facilities.
• Set up road signs, barricades, and direct traffic when needed.
• Assist with general road & drainage maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned.
