Pepper Source, Ltd. in Rogers, AR is seeking a Fabricator/General Maintenance on the 2nd shift to fabricate and assemble structural metal products and components for machinery.

You will set up and operate fabricating equipment, weld parts, and verify conformance to specifications. The role requires a one-year certificate or relevant training and basic computer input.

The position is hourly non-exempt with a 3 PM to 11:30 PM schedule; overtime may be required depending on production needs.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience.
  • Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to input data into a computer.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
  • Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto workpiece.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
  • Hammers, chips, and grinds workpiece to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
  • Preheats workpieces.
  • Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts.
  • Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.
  • Fabricates and assembles sheet metal products.

Job Title: Fabricator/General Maintenance

Reports To: Department Supervisor

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

2nd Shift

Hours: Monday-Friday 3PM to 11:30PM

Overtime is required based on production needs.

Pay: $23.50/hour

Summary Fabricates and assembles structural metal products such as framework or shells for machinery and metal parts by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
  • Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto workpiece.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
  • Hammers, chips, and grinds workpiece to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
  • Preheats workpieces.
  • Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts.
  • Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.
  • Fabricates and assembles sheet metal products.

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into a computer.
