Job summary

OPAL Fuels is seeking a Plant Operator for its Inver Grove Heights, MN facility. You will help run a Renewable Natural Gas plant, monitor systems, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.

The role reports to a Lead Plant Operator and shares responsibility for daily operations. Responsibilities include operating equipment, recording production data, coordinating with management and vendors, and maintaining plant inventories.

Qualifications

• Experience with landfill gas or gas treatment processes is required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret SCADA data.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and SCADA systems.
• Good mechanical abilities and a basic understanding of electrical systems preferred.
• Ability to work with pumps, blowers, and gas compressors in a safe manner.
• Self-motivated with limited supervision and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate the RNG plant safely and efficiently, monitor systems, perform maintenance, and ensure product quality.
• Coordinate with management for maintenance tasks and with third party vendors as needed.
• Respond to outages, adjust plant settings to meet production goals, and oversee preventive maintenance.
• Maintain detailed production records, equipment hours, service schedules, and inventory.
• Ensure plant cleanliness, organize spare parts, and follow safety procedures including LOTO and JHA.
• Operate and monitor blowers, pretreatment, chillers, CO2/N2/O2 removal, and compression equipment.
