Job summary

The Research Department at Alnylam is seeking an Associate Scientist II to join the Next Wave, Target Discovery and Validation team in Cambridge, MA. This role is lab-based and on-site, offering opportunities to generate in vitro and in vivo data, support target nomination, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to advance RNAi therapeutics.

Strong molecular biology skills and a drive to learn new techniques are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in a scientific field with 1–3 years lab experience or Master's with 1 year.
• Experience with standard molecular biology techniques.
• In vitro cell culture and/or in vivo rodent skills preferred.
• Ability to design, perform, analyze and report experiments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute studies to evaluate targets for nomination into RNAi discovery programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project leads to meet goals.
• Design, develop, and execute molecular biology assays, cell‑based assays, and in vivo rodent procedures.
• Analyze, document, and interpret experimental data with attention to detail.
• Present results to stakeholders within teams and across the organization.
