Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Associate Scientist to perform in vitro and in vivo mechanistic studies of RNAi therapeutics. You will work with diverse cell systems, perform transfections, and quantify RNA, protein, and signaling outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Biology, Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 3–5 years of work experience in industry.
• Experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques for RNA/DNA/protein quantification, ELISA, RT-qPCR and cell-based assays.
• Experience in fluorescence microscopy (confocal or live-cell imaging).
• Excellent lab technique and ability to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Excellent organization, documentation, and record-keeping in ELN.

Responsibilities

• Support investigative, mechanistic siRNA research using biochemistry and cell/molecular biology assays.
• Maintain and manipulate mammalian cell lines; perform transfection and siRNA delivery; quantify siRNA/mRNA/protein.
• Develop, validate, and troubleshoot cell-based assays to assess siRNA safety profiles; learn new techniques.
• Rigorously analyze datasets using GraphPad Prism or FlowJo.
• Present experimental results clearly to cross-functional teams to influence drug design.
