Job summary

GTT is seeking an Associate Scientist - RNA to perform RNA post-transcriptional processing in human cells, execute experiments, and help interpret results. The role emphasizes curiosity, meticulous record-keeping, and teamwork with the project scientist to drive next steps.

The candidate will work onsite in South San Francisco, with hybrid flexibility. A strong background in molecular biology and RNA-related techniques is required, with hands-on experience preferred in cell culture and RNA

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of molecular biology lab experience.
• Familiarity with RNA biology and processing (splicing, translation, cleavage, polyadenylation).
• Experience with perturbation/assays such as reporter, RT-qPCR, or related techniques.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and passage mammalian cell lines; monitor growth and contamination.
• Perform DNA/RNA purification, plasmid prep, PCR, and prepare solutions.
• Conduct RNA isolation, RT-qPCR, and sequencing library prep; assist with protein assays.
• Prepare reagents and keep lab organized; follow safety procedures.
• Follow protocols, use controls, and maintain sample identities and records.
