As they launch their new U.S. lab operations, they are looking for hands-on scientists ready to innovate at the cutting edge of molecular biology. You’ll work closely with a highly skilled science team on in vitro transcription, downstream purification (e.g., HPLC), encapsulation, and advanced analytical techniques like gel and capillary electrophoresis, nanopore sequencing, and qPCR.

Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on laboratory work, dedicating approximately 80% of your time to:
• Nucleic acid synthesis (in vitro transcription), downstream purification, and encapsulation
• Execute molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to:
• Gel electrophoresis (agarose, PAGE)
• Capillary electrophoresis
• Nanopore sequencing
• Downstream purification via HPLC
• Perform basic microbiology techniques such as:
• Sterile culturing techniques
• Troubleshoot and optimize protocols for nucleic acid production and analysis
• Bioburden testing
• Bacterial transformation and plasmid purification
• Support the smooth day-to-day operations of the lab, including:
• Ordering, inventory management, and receipt of lab supplies and operational materials
• Ensuring the lab is well-stocked and efficiently organized
• Maintain accurate lab records and document experimental processes
• Maintain and comply with health and safety procedures and prepare and revise related standard operating procedures

Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field is essential
• At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in in vitro transcription-based nucleic acid synthesis, purification, and encapsulation
• Experience with analytical techniques such as gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, PCR, qPCR, nanopore sequencing, or HPLC
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills in a laboratory environment
