Description
Assist residents with exercise to improve or maintain mobility and independence. Encourage residents to stay active and out of bed unless contraindicated. Assist with transfers, ambulation, and range of motion exercises. Provide clean clothing and linens in good repair. Help residents with bathing and dressing. Change residents' positions to prevent skin issues. Assist in maintaining odor-free environments. Support the Therapy Department with active/passive range of motion exercises. Complete and maintain accurate care charting. Foster a warm, positive, and calm atmosphere. Report significant changes in residents' conditions to the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nursing, or Therapy Department. Prepare residents for medical tests, activities, appointments, and meals. Assist with elimination needs, including emptying catheter bags and sanitizing bedpans, urinals, and bedside commodes. Support residents' personal hygiene, skin care, grooming, oral hygiene, shaving, and nail care. Provide pressure-relieving devices and skin protection measures. The RNA may serve in a maintenance capacity in the therapist or consultant's absence.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Must frequently stand, walk, reach, push, pull, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Good vision and focus are required.
Typically low to moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. The employer may reassign duties as needed.
