An established industry player is seeking a dedicated postdoctoral scholar to join a dynamic research lab focused on RNA biology and musculoskeletal research. A postdoctoral scholar position is immediately available in the lab of Dr. Reyad Elbarbary at the Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in Hershey, PA.
Dr. Elbarbary's lab focuses on RNA biology and translational musculoskeletal research, including roles of non-coding RNAs and RNA processing in bone regeneration, and mechanisms of impaired bone repair in diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes. The lab also explores immune cell roles in musculoskeletal tissue homeostasis.
The research utilizes cell culture, mouse models, and human samples, employing techniques in RNA biology, bone biology, and osteoimmunology.
Candidates should hold a PhD, have a strong publication record, and experience in molecular biology and biochemistry. Experience with genetic mouse models, bone biology, obesity or diabetes models, immunology, or bioinformatics is advantageous.
This position is a limited-term appointment for one year from the date of hire and requires successful background checks. The candidate will benefit from the collaborative environment of CORTS at PSCOM.
