Shift Details: M-F 08-16:30. Holidays: None. Weekends: None
This position requires flexibility to cover when the unit is short staffed such as planned vacations, LOA, sick calls etc. at the Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Froedtert West Bend Hospital Inpatient wound and ostomy team. Potential for scheduled 2 shifts (8-16 hours) recurring weekly at either campus-negotiable.
Accountable for the management of patients with wound, ostomy and/or continence needs. Provides direct inpatient and virtual patient care and education by serving in the role as clinician, consultant, educator and researcher. Provides leadership and direction for coordination and improvement of WOC care within the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin including development of policies and procedures, guidelines, standards of care and research. Other duties as assigned.
Recent and substantial experience as an expert clinician and educator is required. Experience as a Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact) is required. Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse or Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse certification is required within 12 months of hire or transfer into the position. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) is required within 90 days of hire. Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse is preferred.
