Job summary

Froedtert Health is seeking a Registered Nurse on-site at the West Bend Hospital to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care. The RN will support patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures in the OR and GI/Bronch lab, with responsibilities aligned to the ANA standards.

The role requires Wisconsin RN licensure (or NLC multi-state) and AHA BLS within 90 days of hire; BSN preferred. Shift details include day hours with on-call rotations, and a 36-hour standard week under 0.9 FTE.

Shift Details: 0600 - 1430 Mon - Fri. Extended hours to accommodate a day off during the week will be considered. Call shifts on a rotational basis. Call shifts start at the end of the normal shift and ends at the start of the next business day. Holidays: Call shifts on a rotational basis. Weekends: Call shifts on a rotational basis.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients. The RN demonstrates competency in delivery of care to all patient populations, and is responsible for the management of both the unique and predictable needs of the patient undergoing an operative or invasive procedure in the Operating Room and/or the GI/Bronch lab. The Registered Nurse job description incorporates the 15 essential functions of the job description, which are adapted from the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to area of employment.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.

• All newly hired or transferred RNs who do not hold a BSN (or higher nursing degree) and have less than one year of RN experience must provide proof of acceptance into an accredited BSN (or higher nursing degree) program within 15 months of hire or transfer into a Graduate Nurse or Registered Nurse role. The program must be completed within five (5) years of enrollment. This requirement does not apply to non-BSN hires who already hold a bachelor's or graduate degree in a field other than nursing.
• Direct-entry BSN or MSN students who have not yet completed their nursing degree at the time of hire are not exempt, even if they hold bachelor's or graduate degrees in another field.
• RNs who enroll in an MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing program may meet this requirement through that program. If a BSN is awarded as part of the program, it must be completed within five (5) years of enrollment. If no BSN is awarded, the MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing must be completed within six (6) years of enrollment. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
