ARMStaffing is seeking a Wound Ostomy RN in Spokane, WA for a 13-week contract. The role focuses on specialized care for wounds and ostomies, with emphasis on patient education and evidence-based practice. The nurse will manage complex wound therapies, document in Epic, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Required: RN license (compact accepted) and at least two years of inpatient hospital experience, plus BLS. WOCN preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of inpatient hospital experience required.
• Experience with wound care procedures and patient assessments.

Responsabilités

• Assess patients and implement individualized wound/ostomy care plans.
• Use wound care products and VAC therapy as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families on wound care and ostomy management.
• Maintain infection control practices and perform wound culture as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic care.

Job Description

The Wound Ostomy RN will provide specialized care for patients with wounds, ostomies, and alterations in skin and mucous membranes. This role requires effective patient and family education, utilizing evidence-based practices to manage complex wound care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and implement nursing care plans specific to wound and ostomy management.
• Utilize appropriate wound care equipment and products, such as alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, and VAC therapy.
• Educate patients and families about wound care, ostomy management, and infection control.
• Perform wound culture and implement isolation precautions as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient-centered care.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the Epic charting system.

Required Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
• Experience with specific wound care procedures and patient assessments.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license (Compact license accepted).
• BLS certification.
• WOCN certification preferred.
