Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN with WOCN certification for a Wound/Ostomy Care role in Spokane, WA. Inpatient hospital experience is required along with WA license and BLS.

The nurse will work in the Wound Care unit with 1:8-10 patient ratios on a 4x10 day schedule, no on-call or weekends, and Epic EMR proficiency is preferred. Housing allowance and licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission.
• Current BLS certification required.
• WOCN certification required.
• Minimum two years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting required.
• Experience with wound treatments and dressings including alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, and wound vac therapy.
• Experience with ostomy/colostomy/ileostomy management and care.
• Experience with ulcer risk assessment tools including Braden scale.
• Experience with wound and ulcer assessment and staging, including pressure, venous, arterial, and neuropathic ulcers.
• Experience with infection control and isolation precautions/PPE.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Wound Care unit of a hospital setting.
• Patient ratios of 1:8-10.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• No floating between units required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• No weekend requirements.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide comprehensive wound and ostomy care including dressing changes, debridement, and wound vac therapy.
• Perform patient and family teaching related to wound and ostomy care.
• Conduct skin integrity risk assessments and manage related risk factors.
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be considered for the local rate.
• Returning former staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility.
• Must provide a response regarding any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem).
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day).
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process.
