Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is seeking an RN for our Women and Children’s Float Pool, supporting Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, and the NICU. You will provide direct nursing care, educate families, and coordinate discharge planning across multiple units.

The role requires night and on-call shifts (7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) with rotating weekends/holidays, and a commitment to safety and high-quality patient care in a Magnet Hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
  • Current state RN licensure and BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification required if in a Critical Care area, on hire or within first year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.

Our Women and Children's Float Pool supports Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, and the NICU, including the essential step-down side of the NICU. Caregivers in this float pool provide care for Mother/Baby patients, pediatric patients, and Level II NICU infants, offering a diverse and rewarding opportunity to care for patients across multiple specialties. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient journey. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while caring for newborns, children, and postpartum mothers, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, enhancing their experience through education, support, and personalized care.

A caregiver in this role works nights + on-call shifts from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • One year of NICU/MB/Pediatrics experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
