Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Cardiac Med Intermediate RN for weekend shifts. This Progressive Care/PCU unit focuses on step-down cardiac and acute respiratory care without vents, emphasizing rapid assessment and teamwork.

You will provide high-level patient care and collaborate with ED/ICU-like workflows. Qualifications include nursing degree, active RN license in Missouri, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Position: Cardiac Med Intermediate RN - Weekender

24 hours per week, Days

Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Festus, MO 63028

We are also known as the Progressive Care Unit or PCU. Our unit is an intermediate unit that is a step down from our intensive care but a step above med/surg as far as patient acuity

Cardiac, Respiratory distress, Septic.

No vents. – Mainly serve cardiac patients, also acute respiratory (no vents/but high flow) 02 needs/new bipap, etc. then mix of any other disease process in which the physicians determine patient is too sick for floor; but not yet ICU level of care.

Fast paced unit combining aspects of ED and ICU into one department–busyness of ED & critical care aspect of ICU.

Requires and builds strong assessment skills and teamwork.

Qualifications

Education
