Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital ICU is seeking an experienced RN to join a patient‑centered team. You will deliver direct nursing care, implement care plans, monitor conditions, administer treatments, and educate patients and families. The Weekender Flex program requires two 12‑hour weekend shifts and one 12‑hour weekday shift.

You work 36 hours but are paid for 44 hours and receive full‑time benefits, with day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS certification required if in Critical Care area (upon hire or within first year).
• One year of acute care RN experience or military RN experience.
• BSN preferred.

Lutheran Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 10-bed unit that provides RN-based care for medical and surgical patients with complex conditions requiring intensive medical and supportive treatment, including telemetry monitoring for specific diagnoses such as new arrhythmias. The ICU team includes Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and operates within a highly engaged work environment where caregivers actively participate in shared governance and community outreach. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional support, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed.

This RN position is part of Cleveland Clinic’s Weekender Flex Program and will require you to work two 12-hour shifts per weekend and one 12-hour shift during the week. While you are only working 36 hours a week, Cleveland Clinic will pay you for 44 hours of work and give you full-time status and benefits. This schedule allows caregivers to enjoy personal time during the week with family and friends and take care of any errands that will not interfere with a typical day shift schedule.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. -- 7:30 p.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in three years

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
