Job summary

Penrose - St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced RN for weekend option coverage. You will facilitate communication with the healthcare team and patients/families to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during weekend shifts.

Daily duties include nursing process, adherence to standards and act, and commitment to patient safety and organizational values. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
• One year of nursing experience.
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to the specialty.
• RN License; current state licenses or valid RN license from a participating state.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs and intervene for optimal outcomes.
• Develop and implement patient care plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Protect patient health, safety, and rights through advocacy and collaboration.
• Educate patients and families based on learning needs and readiness.
• Treat patients as partners, respecting preferences and values.

As our RN, Weekend Option, you will assume responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families to identify and meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during weekend shifts.

Every day you will promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients through the nursing process, adhering to patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act, all while demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care and organizational values.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with strong clinical assessment and communication skills, adaptability for weekend duties, and a commitment to patient safety and adherence to nursing standards, aligned with our organizational mission and core values.

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
• Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability.
• Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs.

Job Requirements

Required

• RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.

$33.15 - $59.67 /hour
