Job summary

Allegheny Health Network (West Penn Hospital) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Vascular Access Team. The RN will assess patient needs, plan and deliver vascular access care, including ultrasound-guided PICC insertions, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to safety protocols, and ongoing professional development. Strong nursing licensure and clinical skills are essential, with opportunities within AHN’s large system.

Qualifications

• Minimum Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Preferred certification in area of specialty.
• 1 year or more of IV insertion experience, central line management, or guided ultrasound IV insertion experience.
• Additional Employment Requirements: Act 34, Act 33, Act 73 background clearances and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing leadership in a hospital setting and mentors staff.
• Delegates tasks based on patient needs and staff competencies, ensuring safe care.
• Ensures adherence to patient safety initiatives and clinical practice standards.
• Participates in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate care and quality initiatives.
