Job summary

Outcome HC in Pooler, GA seeks an experienced Unit Manager (RN) to oversee a nursing unit, including assessment, medication administration, clinical documentation, and supervision of nursing staff.

The ideal candidate must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a RN license in New Jersey, with current CPR certification or one within 90 days of hire; additional certifications may be required for other areas.

Qualifications

• RN license in NJ is required.
• Current CPR or certified within 90 days of hire.
• Other certifications may be required for other areas of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Audits immunization weekly on all guests.
• Completes admission chart audit on all admissions.
• Submits high cost meds report (e.g., Lovenox, ARixtra, Epogen, Procrit, Aranes).
• Ensures narcotic med refill and backup med are refilled and maintained.
• Reviews admission orders for accuracy.
• Monitors clinical issues or staffing issues and other assigned projects.
• Inputs the 24 hour report; sets up discharge instructions on all floors (11-7 shift).
• In-services nursing staff as needed.
• Completes nursing acuity report daily.
• Maintains weekly med room by returning expired items and monitoring refrigerators.
• Completes psychotropic summary monthly on the first weekend.
• Sends wound report timely and ensures follow up documentation.
• Performs skin assessments weekly and ensures follow up on all interventions.
• Completes infection control reports as required.
• Develops care plans for facility-acquired and nosocomial infections.
• Prepares reports for quarterly meetings as needed.
• Completes fall incident reports with proper documentation and care plans.
• Prepares investigation reports for falls with injuries; ensures documentation per standards.
• Reviews and corrects all hot files/ folders reviewed by unit clerk.
