Onyx Healthcare is seeking an RN Unit Manager to maintain high-quality nursing practice and coordinate nursing programs in a non-exempt, hourly role at our Louisiana facility. The role emphasizes supervision, staff coordination, and problem resolution in alignment with policy.

The RN Unit Manager will oversee shift staffing, coordinate patient care, and relay concerns to leadership while supporting risk assessments and staff development, contributing to a meaningful work environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
• Supervisory experience required.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Determine the optimal staffing per shift and assignment on each unit is present.
• Coordinates the care of patients on assigned shift and communicates shifts concerns by unit to appropriate staff.
• Notifies Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and HR as needed.
• Receives employee, resident and family grievances and refers information to the appropriate manager.
• Assists nurses in completing risk assessments and investigations of injury.
• Notifies the Assistant Director of Nursing and Human Resources Director of identified learning needs.

Description

The RN Unit Manager position is responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice; for coordinating nursing programs; for recognizing and assisting in solving professional, administrative and supervisory problems. Position exercises considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge in solving nursing problems within established policies and practices.
