Unit Manager/Wound Nurse (RN) – Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing
Location: The Pavilion at Piketon

Job Type: Full-time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Unit Manager (RN/LPN) to oversee clinical care and lead nursing staff within our long-term care/skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for staff supervision, care coordination, clinical oversight, and resident outcomes, while supporting a high standard of care and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a passion for geriatric care, along with the ability to guide and develop nursing staff in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs, ensuring high-quality resident care

  • Coordinate patient care plans, goals, and discharge planning

  • Provide hands-on clinical support and guidance to staff as needed

  • Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and leadership

  • Assist the Director of Nursing with department operations and staffing oversight

  • Participate in quality improvement (QI) initiatives, audits, and follow-up

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

  • Assist with resident assessments and care plan development

  • Lead and participate in staff education and in-service training programs

  • Support survey readiness and participate in state and regulatory surveys

  • Promote a safe, efficient, and positive work environment

Qualifications
  • Current RN license in Ohio (required)

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Prior nursing management or supervisory experience required

  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, clinical procedures, and patient care standards

  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation preferred

  • Current CPR certification

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
