Job summary

Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca, NY, part of The McGuire Group, seeks an RN Unit Manager of Long‑Term Care on a temporary basis to oversee clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise staff across the nursing unit.

Ideal candidates are RNs with leadership experience in long‑term care, strong resident‑centered care values, and a commitment to staff development and quality improvement.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Valid NYS RN license required.
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in long-term care.
  • 3-5 years of long-term care experience with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, and long-term care regulations.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to supervise, coach, and mentor staff.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate care across multiple disciplines and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with quality improvement, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the clinical care and daily operations of an assigned nursing unit
  • Supervise nursing staff, nursing assistants, rehabilitation aides, and unit support staff
  • Conduct resident assessments and ensure care plans are implemented, updated, and followed appropriately
  • Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes with providers, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Review provider orders, laboratory results, incident reports, and quality indicators
  • Participate in care plan meetings, family meetings, QAPI activities, and interdisciplinary rounds
  • Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, outside appointments, and resident services
  • Ensure accurate documentation, medication management, and regulatory compliance
  • Support staff education, orientation, coaching, and performance management activitiesMonitor infection control, immunization tracking, resident safety, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Address resident, family, and staff concerns while promoting a positive care environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Shift: Full-Time

Schedule: Days, flexibility required

Seneca Health Care Center is looking to temporarily add an RN Unit Manager of Long-Term Care to its nursing leadership team. In this role, you'll oversee the clinical operations of an assigned nursing unit, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and interdisciplinary coordination.
