Job summary

River Towne is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead the Short Term/ Ventilator care unit in Columbus, GA. The role requires an RN with 2+ years of leadership in acute and short-term care, plus strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

The position offers a negotiable salary, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. shifts, and an on-call rotation. Benefits include shift differentials, health insurance, vacation accrual from day one, and employee recognition programs.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently licensed RN in good standing with the state board of nursing.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a short-term care or rehabilitation setting.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to take call on rotation; must be able to work varied hours.
• Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) on the assigned short-term/ventilator unit.
• Coordinate and participate in resident care planning, including MDS assessments and care conferences.
• Monitor resident conditions and oversee care delivery to ensure adherence to care plans and standards.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff for quality and continuity of care.
• Conduct daily rounds to assess resident care, staff performance, and unit needs.
• Review and ensure accuracy of documentation and EMR.
• Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges for ventilator/short-term residents.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor infection control practices and health/safety compliance.
• Address and resolve concerns from residents, families, and staff.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
