Qualifications

• Experience in Long-Term Care.
• Must hold valid RN license.

Responsibilities

• Daily operations of the assigned unit in the skilled nursing facility.
• Communicates with families regarding the Resident's plan of care and any changes in the condition of the Resident.
• Receives and communicates information to the staff and keeps DON/ADON informed of needs and current developments.
• Supervises the RN, LPN, and trainees during orientation and delegates this responsibility as needed.
• Conducts nursing rounds as needed.
• Educates staff, oversees implementation of new policies and procedures, and reviews procedures with the DON/ADON.
• Handle all supervisory duties for the unit.
• Mentor less experienced nurses, offering clinical and career advice.
• Establish the standards of care for the unit.
• Review Resident records and quality of care.
• Monitor overall care and review individual Residents’ cases.
• Address questions brought forward by Residents or their families.
• Represent the unit's interests with upper-level management.
