Job summary

Sheffield Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Detroit, MI is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead daily operations of a nursing unit and ensure safe, resident-centered care in compliance with regulations. You will mentor nursing staff and serve as a clinical leader in a collaborative environment supporting residents, families, and team members.

The role requires a BSN or equivalent nursing degree with at least 2 years of clinical long-term care experience and 1 year in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in long-term care or post-acute settings.
• Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role preferred.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs, and CNAs/STNAs.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Plans, assigns, and directs workflow.
• Prepares work assignment sheets considering resident safety and staff qualifications.
• Receives calls and finds replacements for absent staff as needed.
• Transfers employees within units as needed.
• Prepares performance evaluations affecting tenure and wage increases.
• Schedules and adjusts breaks.
• Resolves employee complaints.
• Determines rotation of nurses within unit.
