Lord Chamberlain Manor in Stratford, CT is hiring a Unit Manager (RN) to lead the unit’s clinical operations, mentor nursing staff, and ensure safe, high-quality, resident-centered care. This role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and facility leadership to uphold standards and improve outcomes.

You will guide care plans, manage staffing, and participate in quality initiatives while maintaining regulatory readiness and a compassionate work environment.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut.
• Graduate of an accredited college nursing program.
• Current CPR/BLS (or equivalent) certification as required by facility policy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well with residents, families, and the care team.
• Effective organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Compassionate, resident-centered approach, with good organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment (experience preferred).
• Be able to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to work independently and serve as a resource and leader throughout the unit.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and manage day-to-day clinical operations of the unit, ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centered care.
• Supervise nursing staff and daily activities in accordance with regs and policies.
• Develop and monitor individualized care plans with the care team.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and training to nursing staff.
• Conduct rounds and assessments to evaluate quality and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain communication with residents, families, physicians, and leadership.
• Serve as unit administrator during shifts and act as a decision-maker in absence of DON/ADON.
• Collaborate on performance improvement and readiness activities.
• Ensure accurate documentation of resident care and staff activities.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and quality meetings.
• Support onboarding and evaluations of nursing staff.
• Foster a safe, compliant environment for residents and staff.
