Job summary

Lutheran Homes Of South Carolina is seeking an RN Unit Manager to oversee nursing staff and daily operations on the assigned unit in Columbia, SC. The role ensures compassionate, compliant care, staffing management, new staff orientation, and participation in budget and quality initiatives.

Responsibilities include daily rounds, QA checks, and ensuring safe, clean environments; coordinating care plans; and maintaining regulatory compliance and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• Minimum two years’ RN experience; management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulatory guidelines; strong leadership and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Staff Management and Scheduling: develop and oversee unit staffing plans and shift coverage.
• Lead new staff orientation and ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct interviews, probationary reviews, and annual performance evaluations for unit staff.
• Support staff retention and foster a positive work environment through mentorship.
• Unit Operations and Quality Assurance: conduct daily rounds and ensure quality care; address concerns.
• Coordinate QA checks and participate in department initiatives.
• Oversee cleanliness and safety of the unit and maintain survey readiness.
• Ensure adequate par stock and communicate needs to maintain efficiency.
• Care Coordination and Resident Advocacy: participate in care planning meetings and advocate for residents.
