Copper Ridge Nursing is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse Unit Manager to support the Director of Nursing in delivering efficient, high-quality care in a skilled nursing facility. This role oversees clinical operations, ensures policy compliance, and leads nursing staff on a Monday–Friday schedule with rotating on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor residents’ health and assess needs to provide quality care.
• Work with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures.
• Maintain complete healthcare records and reports including PCC according to best practices.
• Supervise, manage, and assist in training GNAs and LPNs on staff.
• Perform routine procedures including administering medication and injections and provide emergency care when necessary.
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the facility.
• Collaborate with DON to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
• Utilize manpower to limit overtime/agency needed to support staffing.
• Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty to ensure timely services.
• Ensure security and a respectful, team-oriented environment.
• Monitor nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes.
• Encourage shift-to-shift communication between incoming and outgoing staff.
• Review prospective admissions for nursing capability and readiness to treat.
• Notify attending physician and family of significant health changes.
• Investigate patient/family complaints and take appropriate action.

Position Title: Staff Registered Nurse Unit Manager

Summary: Copper Ridge Nursing and Assisted Living is recruiting for a registered nurse to fill a management/leadership role in a skilled nursing facility setting. The RN Unit Manager supports the Director of Nursing with the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/family and employee satisfaction during a designated shift.

The RN Unit Manager serves as a clinical operational liaison between units and the DON, medical director, and other nursing staff. He/she is responsible for the clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with Copper Ridge's Healthcare policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. This is primarily Monday-Friday position, but with rotating Manager on duty and/or On-Call.

Duties

• Observe and monitor residents’ health and assess their needs to provide quality care.
• Work with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures.
• Maintain complete healthcare records and reports including PCC being utilized according to best practices.
• Supervise, manage, and assist in training LPN’s and GNA’s on staff
• Perform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessary
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the facility
• Collaborates with DON in maintaining adequate staffing coverage
• Effectively utilizes existing manpower to limit the amount of overtime/agency needed to support staffing
• Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty ensuring timeliness in services to our patients/residents
• Maintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their families
• Monitoring nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes.
• Encourages shift to shift communication between incoming and outgoing nursing staff.
• Reviews prospective Admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensures readiness to treat.
• Ensure that patient's attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient health condition.
• Investigates patient/family complaints and takes appropriate actions to bring to resolution.

Requirements
