Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an RN Unit Manager in New York. You will supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, maintain QA programs, and coordinate nursing services to ensure residents receive comprehensive care. Strong leadership and clinical knowledge are required to guide the unit and ensure regulatory compliance.

Salary ranges from $105,000 to $130,000 annually. Flexible scheduling includes evenings, nights and weekends; full benefits are offered including

Qualifications

• Must hold a current RN license for the state of practice.
• 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, long‑term care facility, or related health care setting preferred.
• Post-secondary education and ability to read/write and follow directions.
• Must maintain regular attendance and be able to adjust to a flexible schedule (evenings, nights, weekends).
• Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations and charting.
• Day-to-day supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff, including coaching/counseling and evaluations.
• Maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing unit.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Interact tactfully with residents, families, staff, visitors, and government personnel.
• Ensure knowledge of nursing and medical practices and compliance with laws and guidelines.
• Demonstrate leadership and supervise other personnel.

RN Unit Manager Job Description:

• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary
• Day to Day Supervision of Licensed and Non-Licensed staff, including counseling/disciplinary action, evaluations, one-to-one in service, suspension/terminations
• Maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing unit
• Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents total regimen of care
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long‑term care.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.

RN Unit Manager Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must have a current RN (Registered Nurse) license for the state of practice.
• 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long‑term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred
• Completion of post‑secondary education and be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance as requires.
• Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish this position.
• Must be able to adjust to a flexible schedule to include evenings, nights and weekend work hours.
