Scott Lake Health and Rehabilitation in Lakeland, FL seeks an RN Unit Manager (Registered Nurse) to lead nursing services for a scheduled shift in a 120-bed facility dedicated to short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.

The role requires coordination with other shifts and leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care. Florida AHCA background screening is required.

Qualifications

• RN unit manager role requiring nursing license; long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret facility policy and state law related to nursing services.
• Participate in facility safety procedures and programs.
• Inform the ADON of nursing activities, needs, problems, and unusual events.
• Recommend supplies and equipment required for the nursing service.
• Make routine nursing service checks on staff, timecards, equipment, materials, supplies.
• Assist with hiring, promotion, suspension, and termination of nursing staff.
• Assist with in-service education programs and evaluate effectiveness.
• Investigate and report complaints.
• Charge the Floor in the absence of charge nurse with daily duties.

RN Unit Manager Description:

The RN Unit Manager (registered nurse) will be responsible for staff, management, and coordination of nursing service activities for the scheduled working shift in accordance with established philosophy, objectives, and policies of the facility to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care. He or she will relate effectively with other shifts for continuity of care and in the absence of the ADON and Director of Nursing will take charge.

RN with Long term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.

RN Unit Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists in interpreting facility policy and state law as related to the nursing services.
2. Participates in facility safety procedures and programs.
3. Informs the ADON of nursing activities, needs, problems, and unusual events.
4. Recommends the purchase of supplies and equipment required for the nursing service.
5. Makes routine nursing service checks on staff, timecards, equipment, materials, supplies, etc.
6. Makes recommendations to the ADON and Director of Nursing to hire, promote, suspend, and terminate nursing service employees.
7. Assists with in-service education programs and follows up to evaluate effectiveness and to determine the need for revision of methods and materials.
8. Investigates and reports complaints.
9. Charge the Floor in the absence of charge nurse/assist charge nurse with daily duties as needed.
