Elderwood in Lancaster, NY is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership for a nursing unit in a post-acute setting, focusing on quality, staff development, and resident outcomes.

The role oversees daily operations, leads CNA teams, partners with families and physicians, ensures regulatory readiness, and supports DON-level initiatives while advancing clinical leadership within a growing post-acute organization.

Qualifications

• Active RN license - New York State.
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience in a SNF or Long-Term Care setting.
• Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, Supervisor) required.
• Strong ability to lead, coach, and hold staff accountable.
• Experience working with CNA teams and developing newer staff.
• Confidence in handling family communication, clinical oversight, and regulatory expectations.
• Experience with dementia population strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour oversight of your assigned nursing unit.
• Supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff — with a strong focus on CNA support and performance.
• Set clear expectations for care delivery, accountability, and teamwork.
• Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans.
• Monitor clinical indicators and proactively address resident needs.
• Ensure high standards in documentation, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a key point of contact for families and providers.
• Communicate changes in condition and care plans clearly and professionally.
• Address concerns and support service recovery when needed.
• Manage daily staffing, call-ins, and scheduling needs.
• Participate in hiring, performance management, and staff development.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure quality and environment standards are met.
