Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA seeks a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the ICU, Night shift, to lead nursing care delivery and drive safety initiatives. You will mentor staff and promote Gold Standard customer service in a fast‑paced unit.

Requires Virginia or Compact RN license, ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year, and BLS within 90 days. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

Relocation Assistance available for qualified candidates! Sentara CarePlex Hospital is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Intensive Care Unit.

Position Description

The RN unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, the coordinator leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. The role increases staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

• Full time, 36 hours per week

Education

• RN‑Bachelor’s Degree
• RN‑Master’s Degree

Certification & Licensure

• Virginia or Compact Multi‑state RN license in good standing.
• ACLS & PALS or ENPC within one (1) year of hire.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.

Experience

• Experienced RN
• 18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty. Behavioral Health – de‑escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. Emergency Care – de‑escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
