Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A minimum of 1 year RN experience is preferred. The role offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus and is a full-time night shift (36 hours per week).

The ICU is a 24-bed unit with strong support from the Nurse Educator, Unit Coordinator, and RN Manager, and is involved in Magnet journey activities. Education includes RN degree or diploma; BSN/MSN preferred; RN license and BLS within 90 days of

• Recent ICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Deliver high-quality patient care with attention to safety, ethics, communication and teamwork.
• Support unit operations with collaboration from nurse educator, unit coordinator, and nurse manager.

Full-time, night shift (36 hours per week)

Overview:

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Depart/Position Overview:

The ICU at SentaraVirginiaBeachHospital is a 24-bed general ICU. In addition to fellow staff, the RN will receive incredible support from the Unit Nurse Educator, Unit Coordinator, and RN Manager. The unit has an active Partnership council and is currently involved with the hospital Magnet journey.

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Registered nursing License (Required)

• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

• Recent ICU experience strongly preferred
