Job description

This RN position is a leader in patient care, utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; shows sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; participates in unit and department strategic initiatives; and demonstrates professional responsibility, supporting the company’s nursing philosophy.

Qualifications

• Education – Required: Registered Nurse diploma. Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Experience – Required: None.
• Certifications – Required: Current RN license in the state of practice; Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) – Must have computer skills for data entry and information retrieval; effective verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages, and keyboard use; strong interpersonal skills; good organizational and time‑management skills; self‑directed and good judgement.

• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly; serve as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Utilize data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improve the nursing profession.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, using appropriate introductions, tailoring explanations of services or procedures, seeking permissions, and adjusting communication style.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Heavy Work: Occasionally exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force, frequently 25 to 50 pounds, or constantly 10 to 20 pounds to move objects. Duties involve walking or standing significant amounts, sitting most of the time with pushing or pulling, and maintaining a production rate pace that may be physically demanding. Duties expose the incumbent to blood, body fluids, tissue, and potentially hazardous medications or waste. Occupational risk for communicable diseases and hazardous substances is present.
