Schedule

Full Time – 36 hours per week (Nights)

Temple, TX

Unit Summary

This is a 38‑bed Telemetry Monitored Nursing Unit. Working on 5 North gives you the unique opportunity to work with both Adults and Geriatrics. Working on 5 North, you can expect your clinical skills to become greater than ever imagined due to the high acuity of patients and variety of scope which include:

• Post ICU Trauma patients (serious injury to 2 or more body systems)
• Traumatic Intra‑Thoracic injury, intra‑abdominal injury, and complex fractures
• Traumatic Musculoskeletal Wounds
• Complex Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy
• Bariatric Surgery
• Colorectal Surgery (bowel malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease)
• Thoracic Surgeries – lobectomy, esophagostomy
• Urology – prostatectomy
• Neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery

Requirements of the Ideal Candidate

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing (or ADN required)
• Active RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required or within 30 days of hire or transfer

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program (nursing specialization preferred)
• RN license in good standing
• Must have BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting in this role
