Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, TX, is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse for the Trauma Progressive Care Unit. This 38-bed telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with high-acuity trauma and post-operative cases, including thoracic, abdominal, colorectal, bariatric, and vascular surgeries.

Shifts are nights, 7pm–7am, with a 36-hour work week. Eligible benefits start immediately, including health coverage, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and PTO from day one,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN School of Nursing or ADN required.
• Active RN license.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• This is a 38-bed Telemetry Monitored Nursing Unit.
• Care for adults and geriatrics on a high-acuity trauma unit.
• Care for Post ICU Trauma patients and patients undergoing trauma-related surgeries (e.g., thoracic, abdominal, colorectal, bariatric, vascular).

Job description

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center is seeking a Full‑Time Registered Nurse to join our Trauma Progressive Care Unit. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636‑bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Schedule: Full Time – 36 hours per week – Nights 7pm‑7am

Location: Temple, TX

Unit Summary

This is a 38‑bed Telemetry Monitored Nursing Unit. Working on 5 North provides the opportunity to work with both adults and geriatrics. The high acuity of patients and variety of scope include:

• Post ICU Trauma patients (serious injury to 2 or more body systems)
• Traumatic Intra‑Thoracic injury, intra‑abdominal injury, and complex fractures
• Traumatic Musculoskeletal Wounds
• Complex Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy
• Bariatric Surgery
• Colorectal Surgery (bowel malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease)
• Thoracic Surgeries – lobectomy, esophagostomy
• Urology – prostatectomy
• Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery

Requirements

• Graduate of an RN School of Nursing or ADN required
