Job summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is seeking an RN for Trauma nights to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered trauma care. In partnership with medical providers, you will recognize emergent situations and aid in surgical site verification, while advocating for patients to enhance their experience.

Key duties include assessing patient changes, documenting care promptly, administering medications, and preparing patients for procedures such as IV therapy and preoperative medications.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BCLS and PALS certifications required within 30 days of start date.
• RN licensed to practice; associate degree or higher in nursing.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; trauma/ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered trauma care.
• Respond to emergent situations; assist in surgical site verification.
• Advocate for patients and document care in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including IV therapy and preop meds.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Trauma Clinician coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In partnership with medical providers, the RN recognizes and reacts to emergent situations and assists in surgical site verification. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Experience in Trauma, or ED/Trauma preferred
