Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Transplant Coordinator Nurse to coordinate care for transplant patients across the continuum. You will engage with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement education and care strategies.

The role requires an RN with a BSN or higher, strong communication, critical thinking and leadership abilities, and a willingness to meet certification timelines for transplant credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a baccalaureate ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical RN experience; 3 years preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to unpredictable situations.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness required.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, problem solving and computer skills.
• Coordinators in Transplant must obtain CCTC or CCTN within 3 years of hire; other certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• The Transplant Coordinator Nurse coordinates all aspects of care for the transplant patient population.
• Plans in collaboration with patient, caregiver and multidisciplinary team across the care continuum.
• Provides patient and family education on a consistent basis; leads quality improvement and research efforts.
