Huntsville Hospital in Alabama is seeking an experienced RN for a temporary assignment. The RN assesses needs, plans and delegates care based on patient priorities, and monitors progress toward expected outcomes.
This 13-week assignment (renewable to 26 weeks per year) features night shifts with full-time hours, overtime eligibility, and a limited benefit plan. BLS is required, ACLS if applicable to unit; internal flexibility for Med-Surg, ICU or ED is valued.
This is a temporary experienced RN assignment
The RN’s role is to identify patient needs and priorities for care through assessment. The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs, evaluates the patient’s response to care, and monitors progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for patient care outcomes delivered during the assigned shift.
Duration: 13 weeks (renewable once for a total of 26 weeks per year)
Type: Temporary with full‑time hours (PRN status)
Shifts: Night shifts; minimum 48 hours per week for 13 weeks with rotating weekends. Eligible for overtime and shift differentials. Not eligible for lump sum extra shift incentives.

Education: Graduate of a state board school of nursing with current Alabama or multi‑state licensure.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in critical care and/or emergency care strongly preferred; flexibility to work in Med‑Surg units. For internal candidates, a minimum of 1 year of service in the current position is required.
Skills & Abilities: BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period; ACLS required if applicable to the specific unit.
