Job summary

Longmont United Hospital seeks an RN Clinical Coordinator to support the director/manager and coordinate clinical activities for the unit. You will act as a clinical resource and role model, ensuring high-quality care and effective communication with the patient care team.

You will oversee shift leadership, assign duties, take patient assignments as needed, and promote ethical practice and patient well-being. A strong RN with leadership potential and collaboration skills is essential.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (or by endorsement) is required.
  • One year of clinical RN experience is required.
  • RN license to practice in the state of employment is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation and records review.
  • Evaluates patient responses and intervenes to optimize outcomes.
  • Develops and implements patient plans of care with interdisciplinary team.
  • Provides leadership and coordination of unit operations during shifts.
  • Directs, organizes and prioritizes shift activities to meet patient care needs.
  • Ensures appropriate admissions/case mix and staffing for safe patient care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, serving as a vital clinical resource and professional role model.


Every day you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care delivery, act as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team, authorize work procedures, assign duties, manage as shift charge, and actively take patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity, all while promoting patient well-being and adhering to professional standards.


To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with exceptional clinical skills, strong leadership potential, superior communication and collaboration abilities, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practice, quality patient care, and a supportive team environment.



  • Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.

  • Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.

  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

  • Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift.

  • Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.

  • Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care.

  • Liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or by endorsement

  • One (1) year of clinical RN experience.

  • RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable.

The Medical Intensive Care Unit at Longmont United Hospital is a Medical/Surgical ICU department with 16 beds. We see a variety of trauma patients (GI bleeds, post MI patients requiring support devices or medication) and anyone in need of critical care, we also provide house telemetry overflow as needed. Our department's mission is to foster evidenced-based knowledge and education advancement, delivering the best care to our patients and their families
