Job summary

Deborah Heart and Lung Center seeks an experienced registered nurse to deliver and direct primary nursing care for cardiovascular and pulmonary patients. You will perform comprehensive assessments, plan interventions, and guide junior staff while assuming unit leadership responsibilities such as Charge Nurse and committee involvement.

Requirements include NJ RN license, BLS, and a BSN preferred; one year cardiopulmonary telemetry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program; Non-BSNs must complete BSN within 5 years of hire.
• RN license in NJ and BLS certification required.
• Preferred: BSN degree.
• Experience: Cardiopulmonary telemetry preferred; basic arrhythmia interpretation and IV therapy knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate unit leadership roles (e.g., Charge Nurse, committee lead).
• Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process for cardiovascular/pulmonary/vascular patients.
• Supervise and guide staff; participate in education and orientation activities.

Position Summary

Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct primary nursing care to patients with cardiovascular/pulmonary/vascular health deficits, in whom outcomes may be unpredictable, to perform comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention and/or evaluation of complex multisystem health care deficits; to direct the nursing care of unstable patients or patients requiring complex care management. Handles multiple demands and tasks simultaneously, demonstrating clinical problem solving skills. Is supported by the Director of Medical/Surgical Nursing, Clinical Team Leader and charge nurse in assuming unit leadership roles including, but not limited to, serving as the Charge Nurse, committee leadership and/or involvement, conducting unit orientation and education; directs and guides the use of resources for patient care.

Experience

Preferred: One year experience in cardiopulmonary nursing to work on telemetry units. Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation, IV Therapy Certification, Hemodynamics, and Mock Code within 90 days of hire or promotion -or- at the first available course offering.

Education

Required: Graduate of accredited diploma, associate degree or baccalaureate degree nursing program. Non-BSN’s must complete a BSN degree within 5 years of hire.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

License and Credentials

Required: NJ State Nursing License; BLS certification. Basic Life Support CPR; Registered Professional Nurse.

Hours & Compensation

Hours: full-time 72 hours per pay period.

The minimum starting rate for this position is $47.08.

Pay adjustments may consider factors such as years of recent relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity.
