The role you’ll contribute:

Directs, manages, and provides care and safety of the patient in the Operating Room, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Assesses individual patients and procedures, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, and provides services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment. Practice ranges from preoperative assessment to intraoperative intervention and postoperative evaluation. Provides leadership and direction when working with care-givers. Represents the Department of Nursing professionally and courteously.

• Assigns appropriate care responsibilities based on staff skills and patient needs.
• Provides and directs nursing care for assigned patients. Assists in developing the unit schedule.
• Anticipates staffing needs for the next shift. Reviews 24-hour staffing coverage with management.
• Approves staff schedule changes and PDO/vacation requests.
• Participates in unit communication, disseminates clinical and administrative information, and provides feedback to management.
• Supervises team members' work, participates in staff counseling, and guides, directs, and motivates the team. Mediates conflicts.
• Assists with implementing and reaching goals, monitoring for desired outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (Preferred)
• 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Surgery (Required)
• Current RN license in Florida (Required)
• BCLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
• CNOR - Certified Operating Room Nurse (Preferred)
