Job summary

PeaceHealth in Vancouver, Washington, seeks an RN Surgical Specialist for the Operating Room. The role blends clinical expertise with leadership to advance patient care and team development.

As a clinical resource, you’ll coordinate resources, mentor staff, and help ensure efficient, high‑quality surgical care across procedures. This is a full‑time, day‑shift position under a collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• 5+ years of surgical RN experience as circulator/scrub (last 6 months).
• 2+ years of progressive leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical instrumentation and specialty equipment to support OR schedules and patient needs.
• Partner with surgeons, vendors, and sterile processing teams for equipment readiness and efficiency.
• Support evaluation and acquisition of new instruments and technology.
• Educate and mentor caregivers on new procedures, equipment, and best practices.
• Assist with orientation and development of new surgical team members.
• Serve as a trusted resource for surgeons, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain surgeon resource maps and specialty preference cards.
• Troubleshoot equipment and workflow issues to support safe patient care.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient care throughout perioperative care.
• Scrub and/or circulate in surgical cases as needed.
• Participate in process improvements to enhance quality and safety.
