Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas in California is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) in Surgical Acute 2 West. The unit emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care for patients undergoing Orthopedic, Vascular, GI, GU, GYN surgeries
• Assessments, medication administration (Pyxis and Omnicell), wound care, management of lines/drains/tubes
• Monitor patient progress, laboratory values, vital signs, telemetry/EKG readings
• Patient and family education
• Collaborate with physicians, PT, OT, case managers, nursing assistants, and health care team members to achieve optimal patient care
• Document patient care, medication administration, and care team communication through EPIC electronic medical records

What will you do?

• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Current CA RN License
• One (1) year of recent RN experience.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) years RN experience in Acute preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
