Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding in California is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical setting. The role requires OR and CSOR experience with strong assessment and patient-care skills.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position calls for an active CA RN license, BLS/ACLS certification, and the ability to scrub and circulate in the OR.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; 2 years OR/CSOR experience in last 2 years in acute care
  • 2 years recent circulating experience in outpatient surgery center
  • BSN and scrubbing/circulating experience required at hire
  • Registered Nurse license in California required at hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required at hire
  • Eligible for Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process for planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care
  • Multi-tasks, organizes, and prioritizes patient care to achieve goals
  • Performs case preparation and intra-operative case execution for department needs
  • Anticipates case needs to enhance team efficiency and on-time case starts
  • Documents unit and patient records timely and accurately
  • Initiates repairs and follows through to resolve equipment and supply issues

  • Utilizes the nursing process for the planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care
  • Multi-tasks, organizes, and prioritizes patient care utilizing an efficient, concise and goal outcome process
  • Performs case preparation and intra-operative case execution for department needs
  • Anticipates preparation of cases and needs to enhance the efficiency of the team effort, i.e. punctual case start times, accurate and timely preparation of cases (instruments, supplies and equipment) and eliminates predictable case delays
  • Performs documentation on unit and patient records that is timely, accurate and concise
  • Initiates and investigates needed repairs, missing equipment, supplies and other pertinent areas and follows through to ensure resolution
Required
  • Associates Other Nursing and One year OR and/or CSOR experience within the last two years in acute care hospital
  • 2 years recent circulating experience in outpatient surgery center.
  • If it can be supported operationally, training may be offered to applicants having 2 years recent acute care experience in Critical Care/ER.
  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing and Scrubbing and circulating experience, upon hire
