Job summary

West State Street is seeking a Nursing Unit Leader to oversee clinical operations on a designated shift, ensuring care quality and regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes collaboration with Nursing leadership and cross-department coordination to maintain safe, 24/7 nursing coverage.

The incumbent will mentor staff, participate in recruitment and onboarding, and support evidence-based care delivery while minimizing overtime and agency usage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the clinical operations of nursing units on assigned shift, ensuring policy and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate care delivery model implementation, mentoring staff and coordinating with other departments.
• Maintain adequate nursing staff with attention to overtime and agency usage in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
• Participate in staff recruitment, orientation, and make recommendations for promotions, transfers, and terminations.
